Part-time receptionist

ROLE TITLE : Hotel Receptionist

Working Days: Part-time 3 Days a week.

REPORTS TO:
Duty Manager

JOB OBJECTIVE:
Our receptionists are an essential point of contact for all our guests and need to take responsibility for that initial welcome, creating the right first impressions and taking the opportunity to really get to know the guests and anticipate their needs.

In this role, you will need to deliver friendly and effective customer service at all times, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all our guests. You would be the first and last face our customers see, so we rely on you to make that lasting impression. Smart and friendly with a pleasant personality, you will arrange reservations, welcome guests in, deal with bill settlements and generally attend to our guests’ needs.

Ideally you will have hotel experience, but personality and aptitude are more important, as we will provide full training.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they can multi task effectively, be enthusiastic and positive in their nature and have an excellent telephone manner. Previous experience of using Guestline or another Hotel management system is advantageous.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To deliver excellent customer service at all times

2. Ensure that all check-in and check-out operations are performed to the highest standards

3. To assist in keeping Hotel reception area clean and tidy at all times

4. To maintain and display excellent knowledge of local area.

5. To deal with all enquiries in a professional and courteous manner whether in person, telephone or email

6. Administer all reservations including invoicing, cancellations in line with hotel policy, in a prompt and efficient manner.

7. Keep up to date with current promotions and hotel pricing, to provide information to guests, on request, whilst maximising bedroom and other sales opportunities.

8. Fulfil all reasonable requests from guests to ensure their comfort, satisfaction and safety

9. Conduct regular security checks throughout the day and report any security issues to line manager

10. Report any maintenance issues immediately to line manager includes maintenance for all furniture, fittings and equipment

11. Provide reports, as required, for housekeepers and management

12. To input towards Hotel marketing strategy and carry out marketing activity

13. Be responsible for evacuation, in cases of emergency, acting as first point of contact for guests and emergency services

14. To be punctual and maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform policy


Essential Requirements and Key Skills

1. To have an A - C grade GCSE in English and Mathematics

2. To have excellent interpersonal skills with a pleasant and helpful telephone manner and be able to effectively communicate with all departments internally

3. To have worked in a Hotel or customer facing role and have a total commitment to customer service

4. To have proven excellent IT skills including the ability to use Email

5. To be punctual, reliable and of smart appearance

6. To be flexible

7. To be guest-oriented and service minded

8. To have patience and an ability to listen

9. To exercise diplomacy and self-control

10. To be able to cope under pressure

11. To be well-organised

12. To have an ability to work on your own and be self motivated

13. To maintain a smart appearance at all times
