What is a Sequel Wedding?
A sequel wedding is a wedding of more than one part. Sequel weddings have been around for some time but have become a popular option for couples looking to continue with getting married amongst social distancing restrictions and then have a second part, celebrating with wider family and friends at a later date. This allows a couple to continue their plans to marry knowing there will be a time not too far away when their extended family and friends can gather together in safer times to celebrate their union. And who wouldn't want to wear their wedding dress / suit a second time?
Currently in Wales a sequel wedding allows a couple to get married and have a reception for 15 adult guests and, as part of the planning, book a date perhaps later into 2021 when a larger celebration can take place. A celebrant can also be involved in the second part of the sequel wedding, so that your celebrations are started with a blessing or renewal of vows ceremony, which is often very similar to the marriage ceremony itself. The second 'sequel' wedding, can be a sit down meal or lighter refreshments followed by a party when we are able to reunite safely in larger numbers.
Here at the Glen Yr Afon we are offering a Sequel Wedding Package which combines our micro wedding package with a sequel celebration of 75 guests, and optional renewal ceremony.
