Here at the Glen-Yr-Afon we can cater for a variety of functions and social events from dinner/dances, award ceremonies and business conferences to birthdays, christenings, weddings, baby showers and large events or smaller intimate gatherings. Because every occasion and customer is different we prefer to meet with you to discuss your thoughts to ensure we understand your requirements.  We like to understand your ideas and put them with our experience and knowledge to come up with the perfect, unique plan for your event.

For an intimate gathering, the Library is a popular room to host a private dinner party. For larger parties, the Ballroom is the perfect location for dances, discos and larger gatherings. We are happy to suggest the right sized room for the mood you want to create.  Wonderfully attentive service is always included!

We appreciate that you want the occasion to be just perfect and we do not disappoint! Our dedicated Functions Coordinator will work with you to advise on entertainment, menus and all aspects of the occasion making sure that you and your guests enjoy a truly memorable event.

We can also offer accommodation packages to add to your celebration.  Why not add a bottle of champagne in your room on arrival, a birthday cake at dinner or a bouquet of flowers?

We thought that we should write a brief note conveying our thanks for looking after us so well at our mother's 90th birthday party at the weekend.  The hotel reception room we were allocated was perfect for our needs and the food/drink was also nicely presented, tasty and appropriate for the occasion.  Although we were fortunate with the weather and the grounds were very well used throughout the afternoon, the event was immeasurably improved by the friendly, thoughtful, helpful and entirely positive attitude of every member of staff we encountered.  We did all we could to show our appreciation on the day, but still wanted to formally record our thanks.  Would you also please pass our particular praise to the cake maker you recommended?  Her cake was beautiful exceeding our expectations in both looks and taste - the daffodil decoration alone would have won 'Star Baker' on 'Great British Bake Off'.  In short a perfect occasion much enjoyed by everyone including the birthday 'girl' who earlier in the day claimed that she would rather spend the day at home alone!  We already made tentative enquiries about repeating the booking for her 100th and we will be in touch early in 2027!

We just wanted to drop a quick email to you following the event to thank you so much for all of your hard work in pulling this family birthday celebration together for us.  Everything went off perfectly and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, which was such a relief to me!  Of course they didn't realise the amount of time that went in to the planning, but all that is insignificant now as it went better than I could have ever hoped for!  I would also like you to send our thanks to the kitchen ... the food was outstanding.  And the service was impeccable, so a big thank you to the waiters and waitresses.  The quality of the hotel, service and food were all massive talking points at the table and still are now after the event.  We will absolutely be visiting again ... it was such a treat ... huge thanks to everyone involved in making our day so special.
