WINNERS OF THE BEST WEDDING VENUE IN WALES CATEGORY IN THE WELSH NATIONAL WEDDING AWARDS!

We are delighted to announce that at the National Wedding Awards held on 20th November 2011, the Glen-Yr-Afon House Hotel was voted as Best Wedding Venue in Wales.

Out of the 25 semi-finalists from wedding venues all over Wales, we received the most votes and best feedback from our customers.  We are particularly proud of this achievement as the votes are cast by couples that have held their wedding celebrations with us - so thanks to all who voted.

'I just wanted to send you a quick Thank You for everything you've done for us over the last year, our wedding was absolutely amazing,  We honestly couldn't have dreamed of a better day - and all our guests agree! The service we received from all members of staff was fantastic.  As you know we had quite a few children at our wedding and we were all suprised by how wonderfully they were treated by the staff, they had a ball!  Our food was gorgeous and plentyful, there wasn't a single complaint....If we had paid three times as much as we did we would consider it value for money, we'd come and get married with you over and over if we could!  Once again, Thank you for giving us the greatest day imaginable, we could never put in to words how much we appreciate it. We were there for the wedding of our niece Rachel Devenish to Mr Nick Parkin and had travelled from Kent on Friday 3rd October for this special occasion. From the minute we arrived to the minute we checked out was worth every mile of the journey. What an excellent standard of service is offered throughout, from the directions given right the way through to checkout.

There is nothing about the Glen-Yr-Afon that we can fault. The service from all members of your staff was exemplary. There were smiles and cheerfulness, excellent manners and their only aim was to accommodate our every need. There are few words that express our level of satisfaction. To a guest, the wedding arrangements and catering for it were faultless. I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes but to the guest it was perfect. The wedding breakfast was excellent (as was the dinner on the Friday evening in Clarkes) and when the wine was being poured for the first time your staff offered a soft drink to my Husband who does not drink alcohol, without being asked. This sort of thing makes so much difference.  Our room was spotlessly clean and tidy and in this unpredictable weather, it was nice to find an extra blanket without having to ask. I will have no doubt whatsoever about recommending Glen-Yr-Afon to our friends. If we are in Wales again we know exactly where we will be staying.  We were recently at a 3 star hotel in Cornwall so had something to compare with and the Glen-Yr-Afon beats them hands down. No competition whatsoever.  We will be letting the AA know of our delight in staying at your hotel and the level of service you offer.
