Afternoon Tea for Charity

We are offering local charities the opportunity to raise the funds to support their worthwhile causes with our very special Charity afternoon tea package.

The package assists with the preparation required to make your event a success. If you would find it useful to arrange an appointment to visit our venue and discuss your requirements further then please do not hesitate to contact our Events team on 01291 674817.

Package includes:

  • Hire of the Ballroom suite (maximum capacity 145 persons)
  • Afternoon tea menu (to include a selection of savoury and sweet items)
  • Seating plan, table numbers and menus (vintage themed)
  • Car parking for up to 100 cars

A proportion of the ticket price will be given back to the charity on the day of the event by cheque. In addition to this we would also offer one of the following as a raffle prize for the event complimentary:

  • One night’s stay on a bed and breakfast basis for 2 people
  • Afternoon tea for 4 people
  • Sunday lunch for 2 people
  • £50.00 voucher to be used for dinner in Clarkes restaurant

Minimum number of guests for afternoon tea is 50 persons. Only available to registered charities as charity number would need to be provided on booking.


As an alternative to your charity afternoon tea

The Organiser will need to ensure:
The hotel is supplied with any text / images / logos / wording you would like displayed while publicising the event as soon as possible

It is your responsibility to ensure that the event is publicised and that at least 50 guests attend. Failure to reach 50 guests will mean that we would be unable to hold the event based on the Charity package and would need to reconsider the margins both the hotel and charity would receive.

The hotel will publicise the event through our own channels (website, Facebook etc) although your own publicity is also crucial. The hotel will provide pdfs and jpegs to be used on your own publicity.

If you are arranging any entertainment during the event the hotel will need to notified and in some cases (dependant on the entertainment) a copy of their public liability insurance may be requested in advance of the day

If you are considering organising a raffle and selling tickets on the day then please ensure that you provide enough charity staff to sell tickets, display prizes and draw the raffle. We have a PA system which can be used on the day.


The Hotel will:
Take all bookings for the event from guests (further information on booking procedure can be found detailed below)

Provide artwork to be used on any publicity (both for the hotel and the charity)

Decide on a suitable table layout based on the attendance

Provide a cheque on the day to be presented for the raised funds

Guests will need to:
Ring the Hotel reception on 01291 672302 to make a reservation for the event (Afternoon Tea Party).

They will need to confirm the number of guests in the party (number of adults and children)

Card details will need to be taken on booking as full payment would be required to confirm their reservation

The hotel would then send through confirmation of the booking by email to all guests
